Itinerary
Please Note
This safari can be done over 4, 5 or even more days with guaranteed daily departures. Should you wish to prolong your stay on this safari, your additional day(s) will be similar to Day 2 in the itinerary.

Day 1
We depart Johannesburg early and leave the bustle of the City behind us as we head towards Mpumalanga - the place where the sun rises. With fresh air and open fields around us, we sit back and relax as we head down the Escarpment to the "Lowveld".

We explore the Mpumalanga Panorama route, and along the way we visit some breathtaking views and spectacular scenery. We stroll back in time, down the historic main street of Pilgrim's Rest. It takes us back to the days when dreamers and desperadoes from around the world converged on this little-known valley in a hectic scramble for the riches that lay beneath its grassy hillsides.

We stop at God's Window, an overwhelmingly beautiful viewpoint with a 1000m drop into the "Lowveld". En route we travel via Graskop and some magnificent waterfalls.

Upon arrival we check in to the 4 star Umbhaba Lodge. This upmarket Lodge, with its luxury en-suite rooms, will be our home for the next few days.

We have time to explore the Lodge before we embark on our first night Game Drive. Our open 4X4 Game Drive vehicles are the perfect vantage point and will prove to make this an unforgettable experience. We arrive back in the camp when dinner is served and we have time to enjoy the magical sounds of the African night before retiring to our bungalows.

Day 2
Depart early at dawn for our morning game drive followed by breakfast. Thereafter depart on a mid-morning game drive where we try to spot as many animals as possible. This is followed by a break for lunch when we stop at the lodge where we take time to have lunch (own expense).

We will embark on a afternoon Drive to see if we can spot some more of the magnificent creatures that roam this area. Our Game Drive vehicles are radio linked to other vehicles in the Park and therefore we have an advantage in tracking down the elusive "Big 5".

We will return to our camp in time to enjoy dinner and talk about everything we experienced on this day.

Day 3
We depart after breakfast and drive to the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre. Here we participate in a 2 hour tour of the centre and learn how these species are being saved from potential extinction. We have lunch at the Centre and depart thereafter for the Shangana Village near Hazyview.

Here we partake in a guided tour of the village where the Chief gives us some insight on the traditions and lifestyle of this fascinating tribe.
We return to our lodge in the late afternoon and freshen up before we have dinner.

Day 4
Depart early at dawn for our early morning game drive followed by breakfast.

Thereafter we depart on a mid-morning game drive before we leave for the transfer to Johannesburg with a stop for lunch along the way.
We arrive in Johannesburg in the late afternoon.
