Tour Description
The charm of the City of Windhoek lies in its harmonious blend of African and European cultures and the friendliness of its people. Since Independence came to the country on 21 March 1990, it has been characterised by a vitality born of a sense of freedom and pride in self. It’s a peaceful and relaxed city in a country with a proud record of political stability, and is known as one of the cleanest and safest cities on the African continent.
The Fish River is, at 650 kilometres, the longest river in Namibia. Its source lies in the eastern Naukluft Mountains and flows south-west of Ai-Ais into the Oranje.
The Fish River canyon, situated along the lower reaches of the Fish River, is one of the most impressive natural beauties in the southern part of Namibia.

Itinerary
DAY 1 - SATURDAY WINDHOEK - KALAHARI DESERT
Travel into the Kalahari Desert via Rehoboth and enjoy a scenic sunset drive (in open vehicles). Overnight in Kalahari region. [Dinner]
DAY 2 - SUNDAY KALAHARI DESERT- FISH RIVER CANYON
Visit the Kokerboom (Quiver tree) forest near Keetmanshoop. Continue via Naute Dam to northern fringes of Fish River Canyon. Overnight near Fish River Canyon. [Breakfast and Dinner]
DAY 3 - MONDAY FISH RIVER CANYON - LUDERITZ
Travel to Aus. Possibly see feral horses on entering Namib Desert. Proceed to Luderitz. Afternoon peninsula scenic drive. Overnight in Luderitz. [Breakfast and Dinner]
DAY 4 - TUESDAY LUDERITZ - MALTAHOHE
Visit Kolmanskop, a deserted diamond town and museum. Then visit Duwisib Castle (for own account). Continue to Maltahohe region for overnight. [Breakfast and Dinner]
DAY 5 - WEDNESDAY MALTAHOHE - NAMIB NAUKLUFT PARK
Early start to Sossusvlei. 4x4 scenic drive into heart of Namib Desert. Visit Sesriem Canyon, Solitaire en route past Naukluft Mountains. Overnight near Namib Naukluft Park. [Breakfast and Dinner]
DAY 6 - THURSDAY NAMIB NAUKLUFT PARK - SWAKOPMUND
Travel through Kuiseb Canyon towards coast. Packed lunch. See 'Welwitschia Mirabilis' plants said to grow older than a 1000 years. Visit Moon landscape and Walvis Bay before arriving late afternoon in Swakopmund. Enjoy a sundowner on the beach or in the dunes before dinner. Overnight in Swakopmund. [Breakfast and Dinner, + a Lunch Pack]
DAY 7 - FRIDAY SWAKOPMUND - WINDHOEK
Visit Walvis Bay lagoon. Continue inland towards Usakos and Karibib. Visit Henckert's Centre, Herero graves, and handicraft market in Okahandja. Arrive in Windhoek late afternoon. [Breakfast]
