  Tour Description
The Okavango Delta Trail Safari will take you to the ancient ways of the Bushman of Tsodilo Hills and the Hambakusha of the waterways of the Okavango. We visit the pan handle of the Delta and continue to explore the waterways of the Caprivi, Kwando and Chobe river.

We have endless wildlife and cultures living parallel to the waterways that feed the Kalahari Basin of Botswana. The lifeline of the Kalahari and its people will be our main focus on safari.

Participation Safaris
• minimum 2 and maximum 8 people
• the safari is with only 1 vehicle, 1 guide and 1 staff member.
• full participation in helping with pitching own tents and breaking camp in the mornings.
• 2 man dome tents, mattresses, camp beds
• own drinks during the day, but mineral water and juice will be supplied at meals
• satellite phone and air rescue standby on all safaris
• the open air safari vehicles allow you to have a 360 degree view on the vehicles which is ideal for the keen photographer.

The camping safaris are mobile safaris where we will make a base in one region and explore, before making camp and travel overland to our next destination in search of the wide variety of wildlife in Botswana National Parks.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arriving Maun
After your welcome at 14h00 pm at the Audi Camp, our guides will brief you and prepare you for the first activity of the day the Okavango delta scenic flight. This is an optional activity that takes you over the waterways of the Okavango delta and the perfect way to explore the Okavango, its lifeline to the Kalahari Basin.

The afternoon is spent at leisure and to make final arrangements for our next leg of the safari.

Transfer from Maun airport can be arranged at about 10 US$D per person.
Camping - Own Dinner

Day 2 & 3: Tsodilo Hills and Okavango River
Our early departure will lead us to the Tsodilo Hills. We will explore the history of the San people that will guide us to the sacred and holy mountains of the gods at Tsodilio hills. The afternoon will be spent exploring the world heritage site of the bushman and its beliefs. The signs of time is evident in the large variety of paintings that can be found within these granite mountain tops. Our visit to the Hills will include a visit to a traditional San Village.

We will depart the Sacred Hills the next morning to find ourselves on the banks of the Okavango river and its meandering lifeline to the Kalahari basin.
Our afternoon is spent on a boat on the Okavango River and its many hidden Channels.
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner - Camping

Day 4 & 5: Okavango & Mahango Game Reserve
We continue to explore the meandering Okavango and find ourselves next to the Okavango for the following 2 days. We visit Ngepi which allows for a relaxing experience of the local cultures and living of traditional people of the Caprivi in Namibia.
A visit to the nearby game reserve will take us on a picnic lunch and an excellent river game drive.

Day 6: Kwando
Our journey takes us through an old German colony in the Caprivi Game Reserve, where many a battle was fought during the Angolan war. The Kwando and its friendly people will lead the way to Katima Mullilo, the place of fire, with its exciting African markets and traditional vibe. A truly beautiful drive through where we learn about the traditions, history, culture, craftsmanship and wilderness of the African Caprivi.

Day 7 & 8: Kasane & Chobe National Park
Our safari tour is coming to a grand finale when we head off to the magic of Kasane and Chobe National Park. We will be staying in Kasane and from here explore the Chobe River.
An optional game viewing trip on the Chobe River and a Game drive is at the order of our interest at Chobe National Park. The Game drive is catered for on the safari, however the boat cruise is at own expense. (own lunch & dinner on Day 8 in Kasane)

Day 9: Kasane & Livingstone / Victoria falls
Final transfer to Livingstone / Victoria Falls. Airports.Those who wish to stay a few days longer and explore the luxuries of Africa are welcome to arrange an upgrade or short stay before saying your final goodbyes to the safari of a lifetime.

All arrangements for transfers to Victoria Falls / Livingstone and accommodation can be made prior to your departure for the safari. Transfer to Livingstone / Victoria falls are daily and priced from 52 US$D per person.

Preparation for Safari
• 10 – 12 kg luggage per person (Soft bags only) plus 1 day bag per person.
• Appropriate chargers and electrical sockets for cameras etc.
• Tag all luggage with your return address
• No animal products to be transferred across borders especially Zambia, Botswana, Namibia
• Visa’s are own responsibility
• All clients need travel insurance
