To visit the bush is to have a love affair with nature. Visit now and enjoy an authentic African cultural experience. Stay in a tribal accommodation unit, view small game such as zebra, warthog, giraffe, nyala and impala during an exhilarating walk and relax on the viewing deck overlooking the watering hole.
This selfdrive safari will take you to DumaZulu Lodge & Traditional Village for an unrivalled ethnic experience in the heart of Zululand. From there you'll depart to Bushlands Game Lodge which is surrounded by 300 000 acres of National Parks and where you'll experience a game drive in the Hluhluwe / Umfolozi Game Parks in an open safari vehicle.
Itinerary
Day 1: Durban - Hluhluwe
08h15: Suggested time of departure from Durban (approx 2.5 hours)
10h45: Estimated time of arrival at DumaZulu Lodge & Traditional Village.
Treat yourself to a Cultural Show within the Kraal followed by a traditional buffet lunch at the lodge. Show starts at 11h00.
14h00: Check into DumaZulu Lodge & Traditional Village for your overnight stay. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure soaking up the sun next to the pool or visiting the Snake & Croc park situated on the property.
19h30: Dinner served in the lodge and after-dinner drinks enjoyed in the bar.

Day 2: Hluhluwe
08h00: Buffet breakfast at the lodge
Following breakfast visit the Cultural Village on the property and experience the life of a traditional Zulu where you will be shown how to weave baskets, make traditional beer, spears etc… Prior to check-out remember to stop off at the Curio Shop based at the lodge.
12h30: Depart DumaZulu Lodge & Traditional Village for Bushlands Game Lodge (approx 5 mins).
Enjoy a light lunch on the deck at Bushlands Game Lodge prior to checking in (own account).
14h00: Check-in at Bushlands Game Lodge.
15h00: Afternoon game drive in open safari vehicles.
19h30: Dinner served in the restaurant / boma.
Overnight at Bushlands Game Lodge.
Day 3: Hiuhluwe
06h00: Enjoy an early morning game walk on the property.
10h00: Following the game walk, fill up on a scrumptious brunch on the deck. Enjoy some time in the sun or cool off in the pool for the rest of the day.
13h00: Lunch is served on the deck (optional).
15h00: After a relaxing afternoon, it’s back to the bush for some late afternoon game viewing and sundowners in the open game drive vehicles.
19h30: Once you have had time to refresh, dinner will be served in the restaurant or in the boma (at the discretion of the lodge management).

Day 4: Hiuhluwe - Durban
06h30: Breakfast is served on the deck
08h30: Check-out and depart for the return trip to Durban, on route visit St Lucia to take a boat cruise on the lake.
