Tour Description
Visit the wild flower areas and reserves in the West Coast National Park, Nieuwoudtville, Clanwilliam and Darling.
Between the mountains of the Western Cape and the sea is a sandy, low lying plain stretching from the Cape flats along the western coast line to Langebaan. The region is spacious and airy with sandy beaches, quaint fishing villages and many interesting relics of the pioneering past.
Hundreds of species of wild flowers are found in the Sandveld during the flowering season.
Nieuwoudtville is situated at the top of the Bokkeveld mountains, surrounded within a radius of 15 miles by four different vegetation areas: the Hantam, Bushmanland, the Knersvlakte and Namaqualand. When leaving the top of Vanrhyn's Pass, the vegetation changes to Cape Fynbos.
However, within another 20km, it changes to succulent- Karoo. The spring flowers include many rare bulbs unique to the area and draw scientists and visitors from all over the world every year.
This tour is only conducted during August and September months.

Itinerary
Day 1 CAPE TOWN - VREDENDAL
Visit Postberg Nature Reserve near Langebaan, an area renown for spectacular wild spring flowers.
Continue via Moorreesburg and Piketberg to Vredendal. Overnight in Vredendal. [Dinner]
Day 2 VREDENDAL - NIEUWOUDTVILLE - VREDENDAL
Breakfast. View wild flowers in their natural surroundings in the Nieuwoudtville area.
Return to Vredendal for overnight. [Breakfast & Dinner]
Day 3 VREDENDAL
Breakfast. Opportunity to further experience the unique beauty of the area, viewing wild flowers, endemic succulents and birdlife in the Vredendal area. Wine tasting at one of the well-known wine cellars along the Olifantsriver Wine Route.
Overnight in Vredendal. [Breakfast & Dinner]
Day 4 VREDENDAL - CAPE TOWN
Breakfast. Travel to Clanwilliam and Ramskop Wild Flower Garden. Continue through Citrusdal to Cape Town.
Tour ends late afternoon. [B]
