Tour Description
Namibia is awe-inspiring, characterized by vast open spaces, breathtaking scenery, and amazing contrasts – with ocean, dunes, mountain and desert.
A Namibia safari includes such highlights as the remarkable sand dunes at Sossusvlei and the wilderness paradise of Etosha National Park. Traverse Namibia on safari. Sossusvlei, in the Namib-Naukluft National Park showcases the world’s highest sand dunes. The Namib offers remarkably clear skies for astronomers and keen star gazers.
This safari gives you the opportunity to stargaze the night skies by telescope, sit for hours at a waterhole, visit the wilderness paradises of NamibRand and Etosha.
Itinerary
Day 01:
Upon arrival at Hosea Kutako (Windhoek) International Airport you will be met and transferred Olive Grove Guest House. Olive Grove Guest House is is an upmarket establishment situated close to the city centre in a quiet, peaceful area. Spa bath, plunge pool & tranquil gardens invite guests to relax & unwind
Spend one night at Olive Grove Guest House in a twin bedded room. Your stay is on a bed and breakfast basis
Day 02 & 03:
Transfer to Eros Airport for light aircraft transfer to Epacha Game Lodge & Spa to spend two nights in a twin bedded chalet .
Epacha Game Lodge and Spa is situated on the 21 000 ha Epacha Game Reserve. Each of the individually decorated en-suite chalets has its own private balcony, complete with a breathtaking view across the bush. All chalets are equipped with air-conditioning, mini bar, safe, ceiling fan and coffee and tea facilities.
Your stay is on a full board basis including activities
Activities include two guided walking trails, four game drives on the Epacha Reserve and one game drive in Etosha National Park. The Mystique Spa at Epacha offers guests the opportunity to reinvigorate themselves in stress-relieving or rejuvenating massages.
Day 04:
Transfer by light aircraft to Swakopmund Airport for road transfer to Swakopmund Hotel & Entertainment Centre. The luxurious 4-star Swakopmund Hotel & Entertainment Centre is situated in Namibia’s premier coastal resort.
The town of Swakopmund on the Atlantic coast is an eclectic mix of Bohemian and Bavarian, home to an intriguing mix of artists, hippies, descendants of German settlers, stately women in Victorian dress, and tough miners, game rangers, safari operators and fishermen.
Spend one night at Swakopmund Hotel and Entertainment Centre in a twin bedded room. Your stay is on a bed and breakfast basis
Day 05 & 06:
Transfer to Swakopmund Airport for light aircraft transfer to Sossusvlei Mountain Lodge. Sossusvlei Mountain Lodge is situated in the heart of the pristine 180 000-hectare NamibRand Nature Reserve in the magnificent Namib-Naukluft National Park.
Spend two nights at Sossusvlei Mountain Lodge in a twin bedded villa built into rock, with en suite facilities. Your stay is on a full board basis including scheduled activities within the NamibRand Nature Reserve
The surrounding area lends itself to numerous activities which include scenic drives by four-wheel drive vehicle on the NamibRand Nature Reserve where you encounter a variety of desert animals such as gemsbok, zebra, springbok, bat-eared fox, aardwolf, caracal and jackal. A wonderful way of experiencing the dunes is by All Terrain Vehicles with an experienced guide, who takes one along set paths in order not to damage the fragile ecology.
Guided nature walks and hiking trails provide an insight into the scenic and ecological aspects of the environment with its wide diversity of desert-adapted flora and fauna. At the end of the day the blanket of stars, which lights up the desert sky, are brought to life through the lodge’s high-powered computerised telescope. Housed in a separate building, this Meade Telescope affords the amateur and the professional stargazer a close-up view of the galaxy.
Day 07
Transfer by light aircraft to Eros Airport for road transfer to Hosea Kutako (Windhoek) International Airport.
