Tour Description Fly-In to The Quirimbas Archipelago The Quirimbas Archipelago, consisting of 32 islands, stretches from Pemba (the capital of Cabo Delgado Province) to the Rovuma River, which forms the natural frontier between Tanzania and Mozambique. The area has never been developed and remains an unexplored tourist paradise.
The southernmost 11 of these coral islands and a vast expanse of mainland forest are included in the Quirimbas National Park - a conservation effort to preserve and protect the area covering 1 500 square km marine area.. These 11 coral islands stretch for 100km.
The Quirimbas have enormous cultural and historical value, with a combination of Arabian, Portuguese and African influences.
Treat yourself to an underwater wonderland with captivating diving and snorkelling where you can experience some of the world’s richest coral reefs. The Quirimbas Islands feature phenomenal vertical drop-offs, some up to 400 meters. These walls are abundant with coral covered caves and tropical fish ranging from Gobies to mammoth Napoleon Wrasse and game fish including Kingfish and Spanish Mackerel.
